Richard is a advocate of wildlife and endeavors to bring to light the hidden atrocities the affect animals every day. Kim has taken up the fight to defend wolves and other wildlife. Through her diligence and hard work with others; she has been instrumental in publicizing the plight of wild horses. Kim has educated key political figures in the senate and congress about how they can help stop the brutalities and senseless abuse of animals. She puts together protests, rallies and organizes letter writing campaigns along with maintaining an informative website to keep the public informed on issues that affect animals. She has organized events such as a prayer rally to protest animal abuse, online protests with letters and numbers to flood the phone lines of politicians who choose to turn a "blind eye" and don't want to take a stand on animal rights, and has attended several veteran affair meetings to publicize the euthanize of military dogs who served their country and protected our solders in Iraq and instead of bringing them back home to the country where they belong they simply "dispose" of them.The Angel Ark Foundation was formed by a group of like minded individuals who wanted to help animals in need as well as protect our nations wildlife. It is solely run by volunteers. Angel Ark Foundations also goes into the public schools and their communities to promote a more friendly animal environment and the importance of animals in our lives. Tv Tony Robinson Gods And Monsters

Channel 4 is showing a five-part TV series called Gods and Monsters, starting tomorrow evening.

In it, Time Team veteran Tony Robinson (pictured above) is set to explore the history of belief, superstition and religious experience in Britain.

Channel 4's description of the documentary series states: "For 2,000 years, Britain has been a Christian country. Or has it? In fact, our ancestors actually kept many other dark, fantastical beliefs alive. It was a world underpinned by outlandish, dangerous and plain weird beliefs. Ideas that today seem unbelievable, but were seen as uncontroversial and hugely influential, with some having shaped our history as much as mainstream religion."

Although that doesn't actually mention paganism, it does rather seem to imply it is taking the attitude that pre-Christian beliefs were pretty much all dark and dangerous. Hopefully that won't be the case.

The opening programme of Gods and Monsters is called The Undead. It examines our fascination with and terror of dead bodies, and beliefs that the dead could rise from the grave to cause havoc among the living.

Apparently Tony's journey "brings him face to face with a plague-breathing zombie, a dead body that seems alive three weeks after it died, and the English monarchs who ate the bodies of their subjects".

Could be interesting, but could potentially be offensive to pagans. I'll keep an open mind until I see it.

Jitterbug On A Rainbow

Servants of the Light, Aquarian 1991

It's nice to draw this colorful, cheery Sun card from the SERVANTS OF THE LIGHT TAROT (AQUARIAN, 1991) on a grey, rainy day like today.

The card is dominated by the sun, which is nice to see, as a few decks don't really feature the sun in their Sun cards (I'm think particularly of Wicca Moon). Here we see the motif of the two young figures, this time a female and a male, clasping hands and dancing on a rainbow disk which is perched, phonograph record-like, on the top of a mountain. They do look like they're doing some sort of jitterbug, and it's funny to imagine big band music in connection with this card.On the side of the mountain, near the sea, there is a town, and above the town, the rainbow disk, then on this disk, our dancing fools, then above it all, the sun, bursting through the clouds in rings and rays.

The Sun card always stands for good things, and today I am embarking on a good thing, which I think will help me very much. The card certainly bodes well for it.
