Wash the piece of jewelry in warm soapy water. Dry it well. Place the piece of jewelry to be cleared in a zip lock bag. Place several drops of the pennyroyal in the bag and rub the piece with the oil through the sealed bag.
Place the bag in bright sunlight for one to three weeks, depending on how negative the item is.
Remove the item, wash again in warm soapy water, and dry. See how you feel.

* Salt is a powerful clearing tool. Wrap an object in dry salt and aluminum foil, shiny side in. This contains the energy and will also help to clear it. Be very careful about certain pieces of jewelry, not all of them will tolerate salt. Leave in the salt one to 15 days, depending on the severity of the negativity. Never wash opals or pearls in salt.

* Bach flower remedies can be used on a specific piece of jewelry, or other large object or clothes.
You can put Rescue Remedy or whatever essence you like in a spray bottle and spray the object, garment or piece of furniture. This is especially helpful if you happen to know that the object was connected to a trauma. You may have to do this several times to fully clear it.

* Other essential oils also can be used to clear jewelry and other objects. Sweet orange oil, Frankincense, Eucalyptus, cedar, lemon, rose, peppermint and sage are but a few of the wonderful ones to try. Get a sense of what feels right to you and then put 10-15 drops of the essence you chose in a small spray bottle and fill the rest of the bottle with spring water. Bless the water and/or say a prayer over the bottle and then use this essence to clean a space, or an object. This is a great tool to clear hotel rooms when traveling.

Other ways to clear washable jewelry (be careful with pearls, tanzanite, and opals) and crystals include:

Washing in warm soapy water, rinsing and then placing the object in the sun for up to several weeks.

* Wash the object and then bury it in the ground or in a pot with a seedling in it. Again leave several weeks. Be sure to mark where you put something in the ground with a little flag.
* Diamonds respond beautifully when soaked in salt water for 24 hours or longer.

* Put the pieces in a fine mesh bag and lay them in a rushing river or stream for an hour or more.
Often the continual fresh water will really wash negative energy away.

* Do the same as above, only go to the ocean and allow the salt water to wash the pieces. The power of the ocean in clearing objects is amazing.

* Holding the piece under running water will clear energy from a stone; metal is cleared by contact with the earth.

Be Glad Jesus Is Not His All Smiting Daddy

I don't know if it's the summer heat or perhaps an airborne strain of shit-for-brains, but it seems that, lately, all kinds of stinky notions have oozed out of the minds of people I've known nearly all my life. First I'm Rotting in Pride, and now my heart is dark and unforgiving. Let me explain; a person who used to be one of my best friends, until her life choices sent us in opposite ways, has recently found Jesus-yes, poor Jesus is always getting lost.

The person in question contacted me through Facebook to give me the good news-she had been born again. I was quite excited for her. I felt that any belief system that took her focus away from the destructive behaviors she had been favoring when I last saw her, ten or eleven years ago, was a great blessing. But she didn't message me to tell me how happy she was with her new life; she wanted to lecture me about forgiveness.

According to her, I couldn't forgive certain someone's actions because my "heart is dark and being consumed by the ills of Witchcraft."

"Actually, I forgave her a long time ago. You don't see me beating her senseless, do you?" I said. "I refuse to let her back into my life because I don't enjoy being lied to, stolen from, or simply being made to look like a fool."

"If you knew the word," said the Jesus finder, "If you had the lord in your heart, you would see that forgetting past wrongs and forgiving the wrongdoers makes you a better person. It erases evils and reserves you a place in heaven."

I'm a Witch; I say live and let live, particularly when I don't have the whole story. However, when you try to use the teachings of a guy who told his followers to 'treat their neighbors like they wanted to be treated,' and you turn around and bed "your neighbor's" husband, then I get pissed at you."

I almost felt sorry for her, but not enough to hold my tongue. "If you think that justifies the lying and the sneaking around, more power to you. Jesus is very a forgiving guy. I guess you should be glad that he isn't his all-smiting daddy, if he was, then you would be a blazing pillar of salt sizzling in hellish fire."

I'm not sure if she heard the last words because she hung up on me. She unfriend me on Facebook and stopped following Pagan Culture, too. What a loss, huh?

A Basic Elemental Directional Calls For Stating Your Petition

I find that I am quite drawn to work utilizing the elements and/or the directions of the compass. Yet, I am even more compelled to lean towards the Native American system of the '7' directions. That would be (according to how they'd be addressed) East, South, West, North, Above, Below and Within.

With that in mind I utilized a pretty basic elemental alter. I have no room to even store any magickal supplies at the moment so everything used is simply treated in a very revered and ritualistic way prior to being used. Everything usedI was of basic household stuff yet it was ritually cleansed before use. ALL of it.. I like to use rubbing alcohol and/or some type of cologne as I energetically and actually cleanse any containers and etc. for use.

A representation of each of the directions was placed at each of the 4 compass directions of East, South, West, and North. East {AIR} was represented by a tiny plate holding a store bought incense cone, South {FIRE} was a sniffer glass (used for a bit of Brandy or etc.) with a 'tea light' candle, West {WATER} was a sniffer glass holding a bit of drinking water, North {EARTH} was a sniffer glass holding a bit of table salt. The other 3 directions were not represented. I also used 2 other candles as part of the PETITION and an earthenware vessel for sand, rocks and a self igniting charcoal round. I had some dried orange peel which had been shaved off three days prior to this and allowed to dry. I also utilized a bit of regular (cheap) cinnamon and a little black pepper as an incense blend.

I cannot divulge any more than that at the moment.

I have written this as a simple way in which to ask for the Blessing of the Guardian Angel of the direction and then to address the denizens of the direction. After each of these (calls?) the PETITION was stated.
