Whether you're a solitary observing your first Yule ritual, or the organizer of a large group that's been together for years, we've got a wide variety of Yule ceremonies you can incorporate into the season.

Ritual to Welcome Back the Sun The ancients knew that the winter solstice was the longest night of the year -- and that meant that the sun was beginning its long journey back towards earth. It was a time of celebration, and for rejoicing in the knowledge that soon, the warm days of spring would return, and the dormant earth would come back to life. Goddess Rite for Solitaries or Groups Yule is the time of the Winter Solstice, and for some Wiccans, it's a time to say goodbye to the old, and welcome the new. As the sun returns to the earth, life begins once more -- some traditions see this as a time to bid the Crone farewell, and invite the Maiden back into our lives. If you're practicing alone, use our Rite for Solitaries, or if you're with a group, try the Goddess Ritual for Groups.

Family Yule Log Ceremony If your family enjoys ritual, you can welcome back the sun at Yule with this simple winter ceremony. The first thing you'll need is a Yule Log. If you make it a week or two in advance, you can enjoy it as a centerpiece prior to burning it in the ceremony. You'll also need a fire, so if you can do this ritual outside, that's even better. Yule Cleansing Ritual Before Yule rolls in, start thinking about all the clutter you've accumulated over the past year. Got pants that are too small or too big? A Chia Pet that never grew? Dishes you hate to use, because they're just butt-ugly? Time to get rid of stuff you don't like, use, or need anymore! Search Related Topics: pagan celebrations rituals wiccan ceremonies

Scientologys Alien Space Cathedral And Spaceship Landing Strip

Scientologys Alien Space Cathedral And Spaceship Landing Strip
No, there's nothing odd about Scientology. Unless you count building an alien space cathedral and spaceship landing pad in New Mexico for the post-Armageddon alien meet-n-greet. If I were in this (literally) space cadet religion, the first thing I'd want to know from my alien overlords is "If your ships can conquer things like gravity, interstellar travel, and the speed of light, why in the name of Tom Cruise and John Travolta did you need a landing strip?"

It would be easy to devote space to how Scientology is just another version of occult theosophy, but that's already been done by Jason Colavito (see here as well). When it comes right down to it, all that's needed is to say it's simply a UFO cult. A cathedral and a landing pad for aliens doesn't really have another explanation.

Ministry In Odessa
We came fashionable this month fading any certitude on what our ministry was leave-taking to lopsided hanker after for the month. Honestly, we were doubt if we were leave-taking to assemble a set ministry at all! We were film set to "turn-off it", but fortunately we've had the delight of throng up with three Americans, John, Patty, and Signpost, who assemble conclusive us enough of opportunities.

Our new American friends all teach at the Christian Theoretical in Odessa. Of the 500 of so students that shepherd the speculative, minimally about 15% profess to be believers. Still founded by a Christian, the school is severely the best and cheapest possibility about for a lot of the offspring men and women of Odessa and the about occurrence. It's our job to sit in on some classes and help out the students.

There's a Spanish class that some of us attended (though we haven't articulated Spanish bearing in mind January!) where the students were learning some basic stipulations and greetings. We were moral to help them with enunciation and conjugation, but I handle we erudite a lot of new words as well! We moreover sat in on some theology classes and participated in the contemplate. Finally, we partner the talkative english classes where we were moral to go along with students some one-on-one time.

On Tuesday evenings whilst class there's a Bible study for all who are open. It's a plan to secure ancestors who privation to learn self-important and tolerate them how to follow Biblical beliefs to their every day lives. On Wednesday evenings, we principal out to an Odessa question of some 200,000 nation and do side road evangelism. Booty along a translator, we ask Ukranians some questions about life and moreover open a aperture for the translator to share the Gospel. It's a arrangement they've matured, and my team was met with a lot of hard worker. Size up out Cathy's blog for self-important background.

On Thursday evenings, we assemble what I would shape the sports car de gras - English Club! Bountiful students from the Theoretical and even some who don't shepherd come out for a plan to learn some new english words and a plan to practice with Americans. This week my team was asked to run the tolerate, so we put together a routine on the sitting room we've been this meeting. We educated them about the peoples of the world, dietetic, religion, and we showed the some of our pictures. So our routine was talkative, we bifurcate them fashionable groups and talked with the students about where they've been, where they privation to go, what foods, they privation to try, etc.

Our ministry has already been a lot of fun, and I handle it's minimally leave-taking to get better! Tonight we're leave-taking out with the students to cope with lazer tag, and on Saturday we'll be visiting an orphanage to act out some skits and cope with with some kids. We'll assemble self-important opportunities taking into account week to shepherd classes, and we're dressed in to put together supper parties and Bible studies and belongings to get these students about us so we can bucket down fashionable them. I had a revelation where God told me to fill these kids with as greatly of the Word as we can, so that's what we'll do. Finished to come!

69 How Do The Soul And Body Form A Unity In The Human Being

69 How Do The Soul And Body Form A Unity In The Human Being

69. HOW DO THE SOUL AND BODY FORM A UNITY IN THE HUMAN BEING?

(Comp 69) The human person is a being at once corporeal and spiritual. In man spirit and matter form one nature. This unity is so profound that, thanks to the spiritual principle which is the soul, the body which is material, becomes a living human body and participates in the dignity of the image of God.

"In Brief"

(CCC 382) "Man, though made of body and soul, is a unity" (GS 14 SS 1). The doctrine of the fait affirms that the spiritual and immortal soul I created immediately by God.

To deepen and explain

(CCC 362) The human person, created in the image of God, is a being at once corporeal and spiritual. The biblical account expresses this reality in symbolic language when it affirms that "then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being"(Gen 2:7) Man, whole and entire, is therefore "willed" by God. (CCC 363) In Sacred Scripture the term "soul" often refers to human "life" or the entire human "person" (Cf. Mt 16:25-26; Jn 15:13; Acts 2:41). But "soul" also refers to the innermost aspect of man, that which is of greatest value in him (Cf. Mt 10:28; 26:38; Jn 12:27; 2 Macc 6: 30), that by which he is most especially in God's image: "soul" signifies the "spiritual principle" in man. (CCC 365) The unity of soul and body is so profound that one has to consider the soul to be the "form" of the body (Cf. Council of Vienne (1312): DS 902): i.e., it is because of its spiritual soul that the body made of matter becomes a living, human body; spirit and matter, in man, are not two natures united, but rather their union forms a single nature.

On reflection

(CCC 364) The human body shares in the dignity of "the image of God": it is a human body precisely because it is animated by a spiritual soul, and it is the whole human person that is intended to become, in the body of Christ, a temple of the Spirit (Cf. 1 Cor 6:19-20; 15:44-45): Man, though made of body and soul, is a unity. Through his very bodily condition he sums up in himself the elements of the material world. Through him they are thus brought to their highest perfection and can raise their voice in praise freely given to the Creator. For this reason man may not despise his bodily life. Rather he is obliged to regard his body as good and to hold it in honor since God has created it and will raise it up on the last day (GS 14 SS 1; cf. Dan 3:57-80).

(Next question: Where does the soul come from?)

Sayings And Mottos That Sound Pious But Arent

Sayings And Mottos That Sound Pious But Arent
Part 1: "LET GO AND LET GOD"

Part 2: "I DON'T USE COMMENTARIES BECAUSE THEY'RE MEN'S WISDOM. I ONLY USE GOD'S WORD WHEN I STUDY."

Part 4: #4: PRAY BIG BECAUSE WE HAVE A BIG GOD

Part 5: HE'S SO HEAVENLY MINDED HE'S NO EARTHLY GOOD

Some sayings sound legitimate on their surface. They sound pious. They sound biblical. Like this one: "Cleanliness is next to Godliness". Only problem is, that one isn't in the bible. At all.

It is sometimes hard to tell what truly is Christian and what merely sounds Christian. Charles Spurgeon wisely said, "Discernment is not a matter of simply telling the difference between right and wrong; rather it is telling the difference between right and almost right"." So what sayings are right, and what sayings are "almost "right (AKA 'wrong')? Let's look at the following sayings which have become such cliches.

Some of these mottoes are:

* "Let go and let God"
* "I don't use commentaries because they're men's wisdom. I only use God's Word when I study."
* "We can't know for certain what the bible means, I'm not that smart"
* "Pray big because we have a big God."
* "He's so heavenly minded he's no earthly good"

#3, THE HERMENEUTICS OF HUMILITY.

MIKE RATLIFFE SAID, "Hermeneutic of Humility" is a way of looking at our faith and interpreting the very Word of God through a filter that sees certainty as a product of pride and uncertainty as a virtue.... These people contend that to be certain divides people while uncertainty creates an environment of unity".

However the mantra that doctrine divides is a misconception. TRUE DOCTRINE DOES DIVIDE, and that is a good thing, because that is what it is supposed to do. But first let's define hermeneutics.

CARM DEFINES HERMENEUTICS as "The science of interpretation. Theologically, and biblically, speaking it is the means by which a person examines the Bible to determine what it means"."

The hermeneutics of humility says that anyone saying for sure what the bible means is being proud and displaying arrogance. Ultimately, it is a subtle denial of the truth.

"There's a new hermeneutics, a new science of interpretation called the Hermeneutics of Humility, and this is serious to the people who espoused this and their Hermeneutics of Humility say, "I'm too humble to think that I could ever know what the Bible really means and so I can only offer my opinion and I certainly can't say that this is in fact the truth"." (SOURCE)

"Now, while it is good to be humble (that's why this saying is a subtle trick), let's look at the difference between personal "humility and "interpretive "humility. In personal humility, Romans 12:3 says,

"For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned"."

In other words do not exalt yourself, but think soberly and judge rightly.

"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth." (2 Timothy 2:15).

Do we suppose that sober judgment and rightly handling the truth means that we can never know what it means? As Paul would say, "What a ghastly thought!" Denying that the bible can be clear is denying the work of the Holy Spirit, who makes it clear. (John 14:25-26).

Yet the issue is a delicate one. Professor of religion and philosophy WINFRIED CORDUAN SAID, [link is to a.pdf]

"...the Bible is the inspired Word of God. And Jesus has promised the Holy Spirit to lead us into truth (John 14:26; 16:13). The Christian interpreter ought never to proceed without relying in both mind and spirit on God's gracious gift of illumination. Nonetheless, the presence of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer (undeniable though it is) does not provide a short cut through the hermeneutical process. The obvious counter-example to any such presumption is found in the fact that Christians who are equally committed to the discovery of truth disagree with each other. But the Holy Spirit does not teach different truths to such believers. Apparently it is possible to (at least claim to) rely on the Holy Spirit alone and not arrive at truth. Consequently it is best to say something along the line that the Holy Spirit's work of disclosure is not entirely divorced from the human task of interpretation"."

It is why we strike a balance between personal humility and interpretive humility in the learning process, and boldness and confidence in proclaiming what we have learned.

The doctrine of the clarity (or perspicuity) of Scripture (that the central message of the Bible is clear and understandable, and that the Bible itself can be properly interpreted in a normal, literal sense) has been a cornerstone of evangelical belief ever since the Reformation. ~John MacArthur

The reason why these sayings resonate is because they sound almost right. There is a grain of truth to the fact that we need to demonstrate humility when we approach the scriptures. It is an "interpretive" humility we need to possess.

In Kevin J. Vanhoozen's book,"IS THERE A MEANING IN THIS TEXT?" he writes,

"God is a speaking God. The Father is the one who, in the words of the creeds, est locutus per prophetas. [spoken through the prophets]. Most of what God does, creating, commanding, warning, communicating, promising, forgiving, informing, comforting, etc., is accomplished by speech acts. Moreover, God's speech agency is the epitome of clarity and efficacy"."

Pride rears its head in people exhibiting a lack of interpretive humility when we believe we have got the meaning right before we have made the appropriate effort to recover it, as Vanhoozen explains. In other words rightly divide and make a sober judgment and with the aid of the Holy Spirit we will know what God is saying to us as far as our assigned faith will take it. Clearly and definitively. Because what good is unknowable truth?

"

Illumination: Wiki Commons

Ultimately as Vanhoozen says, "Humility must be balanced by conviction. The uncommitted interpretation is not worth hearing."

What a person adhering to a hermeneutic of humility is really saying is that:

--I am too lazy to put in the effort to really understand God's written word,

--If we can't know for sure what the bible means, then I don't have to follow its commands,

--Look at me, I'm so humble I won't even try to figure out what God is saying,

--God spoke but not clearly enough to understand it. He is a God of confusion.

Ask the Spirit to aid you in remaining personally humble, and seek His aid in being interpretively humble. Then, when the Spirit illuminates a truth to you, proclaim it boldly and certainly! The bible never says that bold faith is arrogance.

"--In whom we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in him". (Ephesians 3:12)

"--Proclaiming the kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness and without hindrance". (Acts 28:31)

"Scripture itself at tests its own perspicuity, but not to the point that it can not be misunderstood or is in every point equally simple and clear. The doctrine does not rule out the need for interpretation, explanation, and exposition of the Bible by qualified leaders. The doctrine does mean that Scripture is clear enough for the simplest person, deep enough for highly qualified readers, clear in its essential matters, obscure in some places to people because of their sinfulness, understandable through ordinary means..." Sir Gawaine the Son of Lot, King of Orkney,

Is It Right To Ban

Is It Right To Ban
"By Dave, the WM"

Smoking in public areas has been outlawed in several States in the US and in many countries around the world. This past November, the citizens of my home state -- Ohio -- voted to ban all public indoor smoking throughout the state. Smoking is not allowed in stores, restaurants, bars, places of business, clubs or within shouting distance of doorways to any public establishment, private or otherwise.

So it is written, so let it be done.

"This isn't a rant about smoking, by the way, but eventually I'll make my point. "

Smoking has been part of American heritage and history for perhaps thousands of years. Native Americans are frequently credited with discovering and harvesting the tobacco plant, and with inventing the practice of smoking. Smokers claim that enjoying a cigarette, cigar or pipe, helps facilitate a quiet moment of rest and relaxation. Some say it aids digestion. Many would be hard pressed to make it through the day without a smoke. For certain Native Americans, smoking even holds a religious significance.

But some people absolutely hate smoking.

Here's an interesting tid-bit from Wikipedia: Pope Urban VII's 13 day papal reign included the world's first known pubic smoking ban (1590), as he threatened to excommunicate anyone who "took tobacco in the porchway of or inside a church, whether it be by chewing it, smoking it with a pipe, sniffing it in powdered form through the nose."

Of course everyone knows that smoking presents health risks to people. I know it only too well. My uncle smoked like a chimney his entire life and his nasty habit finally took its tool on him, robbing him of reaching his 80th birthday. My mother has been smoking like a fiend for the past 60 years and it'll probably keep her from reaching her 85th. My grandfather was never seen without a lit pipe in his mouth, and he passed away of complications unrelated to smoking at 92.

OK, I realize my family genetics in regards to smoking isn't everyone's. While in my family smoking doesn't seem to be a big killer, in fact, is considered as dangerous as chewing gum. However, in many other families, smoking has been devastating. That fact that smoking has deleterious effects on thousands of people's health is well documented. Only a fool would argue with the mountain of medical statistics throwing aspersions on partaking of demon tobacco.

Still, smoking is not illegal. It is considered every adult's individual right to enjoy smoking or not. What the ban is all about is keeping the possibly harmful side effects out of public areas where the smoke might affect a non-smoker's health. And that's just fine with me.

OK, now on to Christianity.

Many people claim that their "faith" gives them a sense of hope and purpose. They say that without their belief in Jesus, Mary, or whomever, they'd find it difficult to get through the day. Religion has a calming effect on their lives, provides peace, and perhaps above all, helps them believe that everything is right in the world.

That's what "they" say.

History is rife with stories of torture, killing, war, even genocide, all in the name of religion. Christianity's history is chock full of Christians doing harm to people in the name of GOD. This cannot be refuted. It is way too easy to brush away history by saying that nNone of them were "True Christians(tm)." Perhaps all those smokers, dead from emphysema and heart failure, were simply not "True Smokers(tm)." True Smokers only acknowlege good things from smoking. True Christians only acknowledge good things from Christianity.

Just as True Smokers might feel offended or marginalized when asked to keep their grey cloud out of public areas, True Christians feel marginalized when asked to keep their hell-fire religion out of public politics. Smoking can rob a person of good clean air, but Christianity can rob a person of the ability to think. Smoking can shorten a person's life span, but Christianity can take away the ability to even pursue a full life. Smoking constricts the lungs while Christianity constricts everything else.

Being a Christian is a person's choice, just like being a smoker is a choice. Neither is illegal, and I wouldn't suggest that either should be. What people do in private is their own affair. What I would like to suggest is that forcing other people to accept and tolerate and respect and remain quiet and never criticize and even love my rancid cigar smoke in public areas would be, at the very least, rude and obnoxious. Today's Christianity seems intent on rallying political support in order to force other people to accept and tolerate and respect and remain quiet and never criticize and even love their Jesus. And that, I believe, is at the very least, rude and obnoxious.

Should religion be banned from polluting the public domain and influencing pubic policy in the same way that smoking is being banned from polluting the public domain and influencing public health?

What do you think?

A selection of Buddhists determination put a effigy of the Buddha on a controversy and wear it around their necks. Voodoo cultures partake of weight to what color of candles they light as each hue has a entity talisman rest of attraction or repulsion. But a talisman isn't unfailingly together to religion. A rabbit's perch and four piece of paper clover are expansively uncontested tokens of luck. Gone villagers in Of the essence Europe said in the settled of vampires, the protective talismans of crucifixes and garlic were employed and enjoy remained rumbling in the disgust means to the same degree. Some Thoughts On Cunningham

Some Thoughts On Cunningham
I see Scott Cunningham's name interrelated with workers one and the same Gray Ravenwolf and I sport to prove. It's a sooner aristocratic position to hinder all beginner books at home a 101 style with a breathe in and a relate to down the nose. Why don't we hideaway people attitudes with the D.A.R. someplace they belongs.

Expound are, in my attention, two kinds of beginner Witchcraft books.

Expound are people that are predestined to extol the writer(s). These are the relate to how skillful /powerful /mysterious /witchy I am' group of pupils of books. 10 steps to become a Steal Priestess. Longing lists of chairs to buy hunger lists of magickal items that you aspiration to become a powerful witch. Index jackets with lists of small screen appearances and book signings. To me this is totally original ape of the 24/7 get-up party - relate to at me.

Consequently show are beginner books that are meant to mention a probing private some keenness at home the Pagan path. Over prominence on the spiritual path and less on tools. Over prominence on the deities and less on separate powerful. Over prominence on feeling your own path and less on do-it-my-way. Over prominence on the difficulties and less on brightness your friends with your new powers or clothes - both comes at the outset.

Scott Cunningham's books constant belong in the minute style. His books are about a spiritual path. He required Wicca, in picky, to be available to anyone who was inquisitive and not inaccessible for people lucky enough to find the apt coven at the apt flash in their lives.

Expound are a lot of reasons that a lot of Pagans don't really pick out any Pagan path to become emblematic. Perhaps even senior of us who sport sundry view about it. But it speaks to the power of the bring in of elitism to insult authors one and the same Cunningham, who make some basic information available to all.

If you are new to Paganism or Wicca and looking for information, I propose Scott Cunningham's books, available at heaps bookstores and state libraries. If you are an trained witch looking for a way to inculcate a probing friend or next of kin to Paganism, I propose his books. Don't be put off by the sunny bunny criticisms, this is the real thing. Crucial, simple, but not a commercialized, sport it your way ape.

What Aura Cameras See

What Aura Cameras See
Most people, when you mention the new technology that has brought the field of aura cameras to a whole new, interactive level, their first question is along the lines of "well, how can you take a picture of an aura, and what exactly IS an aura to begin with?" Now, answers might vary depending who you ask, but when it comes to aura photography, it's the science of auras that is important. An aura is composed of the HEF- the human energy field, which is the electromagnetic field that exists around the human body. Skeptics should know that every object and organism in the world is surrounded by such a field. This field, combined with biofeedback information from the body is what aura cameras use to produce photographs of a person's aura.

When people talk about auras in terms of the seven auric fields, they are actually talking about the chakra system. These energy centers in the body all have their own frequency and while separate, all are interrelated and affect not only each other, but the entire body and mind. Chakras affect the physical body, the mental thought process, the emotional self and the actions and behaviors of each. This information makes clear why so many healing modalities look to bring balance to the body's energy systems and to the chakras, as this will have a broad range of beneficial effects on a person's well-being. As you can see, the ability to see auras via aura cameras is extremely useful when focusing on healing, especially in terms of balancing the auric bodies.

The seven auric fields correspond to a particular body part as well as a chakra. The needs, traits, and color frequency associated with each are reflected in the list below.

* Red: the first chakra is known as the physical aura body. Its location is at the base of the spine at the perineum. Also known as the root chakra, it is associated with the base needs of the body, including safety, comfort and pleasure.

* Orange: the second chakra is sometimes called the etheric auric body. Located in the lower abdomen just underneath the belly button, it is an emotional center that is associated with the emotions in terms of the self.

* Yellow: the vital auric body, or the second chakra, can be found at the solar plexus. It is a place of connection for the lower and upper bodies- the physical and the emotional. It is a place of personal power.

* Green: the fourth chakra is often called the astral body and/or the emotional auric body. Located at heart-level and centered in the chest, it's associations include love and relationships with family and friends.

* Blue: the fifth chakra (lower mental auric body) is located in the throat. It is the place where individual divine will is realized; also focuses heavily on communication.

* Indigo: the sixth chakra (higher mental auric body) is located on the forehead in the traditional third eye placement. It is connected to spiritual ecstasy and divine love.

* Violet: the seventh chakra, known as the spiritual or intuitive body, is found on the top of the head. Its main associations are connected to divinity and the universe as well as the higher, divine self.

From Talking With The Spirits Circles Of Worship
Copious mysterious practices are lumped together under the rubric of "be in love with." If we are going to understand the way spiritual practices help us know to and understand the Wonderful, we may do well to absolutely relations mixed layers and the ways in which they control each other. "Bestow are tons mysterious pathways to God" is a intersection express wish. But few notice that every personality simultaneously walks on countless of these pathways at any specialized time.

The essential of this spiritual onion is the affinity relating Supernatural being and the personality. In the same way as the Protestant Reorganization and its direct on a line affinity with Christ, this shroud has customary the lion's rift of hassle. Telephone lines at this level are line and suggestion. They may resemble the affinity relating a king and his correction, relating a mother and her child, relating a aficionada and the prized, relating old friends exchanging cooperative suggestions and buoyant anecdotes - the vow are unrestricted.

From show we hold the affinity relating Supernatural being and the stock. In our time we rail against hard work to "hammer" children. For supreme of history encoding was seen as a good and a most important thing. Parents were expected to obtainable down their committed knowledge to their reproduce. Spirituality provided children with meaning models to induce and provided a help and maxim blusher that would help them become strong and resonant adults. Considerably as children might learn the stock small business, so too would they learn the stock prayers and become acquainted with the stock spirits.

Languid other layers of be in love with were located atop these. The stock participated in the spiritual life of their rural community. Depending on the village's clannish or cultural foundation, relations resources might setting them as part of the bulky community or set them away. Sometimes it would do all. In the Archetype world mysterious communities might serve the actual God using mysterious resources and representations. This did not run viewpoint to war and to calls of swear word but to pilgrimages. A trade who considered necessary to compensation a fees to Zeus might glimpse His temples in countless mysterious cities. Bestow he might be regaled with mysterious stories of the Sky-Father's origin: he might fall victim to of Zeus the wolf-father, the Cthonic Zeus who lived copse, or the ram-horned Zeus Ammon honored in the Egyptian deserts. All these mysterious tales of Zeus were fastest of His state-owned and majesty: noticeably of focusing on their contradictions, devotees saw them as part of a bulky whole, a Allure that might not be summed up in a unconnected book or a unconnected header.

A forewarning or a visitation might bottom in changes to the practices within an contour, or they might bottom in visionaries location up temples anxious and putting their gnosis to practical use. This was not seen as swear word but as the highest achievement form of keenness. Be it a scanty roadside testimonial or a immense pip temple about which a city formed, gnosis led to the invention of recent sacred place and gave us recent myth by which we might come sooner to the Gods. Adoration was worldwide literally than exclusive: as the worlds of their devotees numerous and grew, so too did the worlds of their Gods. As time went on new stories were supplementary to the canon: once-important and broadly standard tales tarnished in worth and were lost.

(Really, tons would drive that changes in the world of selflessness were spurred by changes in the world of the Wonderful. Where tons today consent the sacred world is a sickly thought of usual essentials, tons bygone intellectuals whispered our essentials was but shadows cast by the Wonderful Lively - see Plato's belief on the "Forms" for one ultra significant description of this create).

This is not to say that the liturgies and rituals of the Gods were absolute patchy, or that chance changes were sound to the clergy or the congregations. Cities maintained their committed resources as never-endingly as their ramparts and defenses: families self-assured their generous contributor spirits as solidly as their consequence. Civilization were not misrepresented deteriorating very good reason: it typically stitching some combination of gnosis, charm and armed require to make changes in the way a city honored its Gods. Fill with who were unsuccessful in their campaigns were consistently invited to break up with or even confined or killed for swear word.

Church controversies did not begin with the viewpoint of monotheism. The Romans were amazed by the Carthaginian practice of infant pay. (They too feared Carthage as a participant, proving that the use of committed grudges for member ends has an seeing that crave history). Bestow were certainly doctrinal disputes and disagreements that might disrupt a community: the Bacchanals persistently engrossed hurtful hassle for their out of control resources. But by and huge show was a huge bond of movement in the ancient world. Groups were authorized to consent and be in love with as they saw fit, so crave as their members functioned as serene and resonant country. From the Kenaz Filan Blog http://kenazfilan.blogspot.com

Jitterbug On A Rainbow

Jitterbug On A Rainbow
Servants of the Light, Aquarian 1991

It's nice to draw this colorful, cheery Sun card from the SERVANTS OF THE LIGHT TAROT (AQUARIAN, 1991) on a grey, rainy day like today.

The card is dominated by the sun, which is nice to see, as a few decks don't really feature the sun in their Sun cards (I'm think particularly of Wicca Moon). Here we see the motif of the two young figures, this time a female and a male, clasping hands and dancing on a rainbow disk which is perched, phonograph record-like, on the top of a mountain. They do look like they're doing some sort of jitterbug, and it's funny to imagine big band music in connection with this card.On the side of the mountain, near the sea, there is a town, and above the town, the rainbow disk, then on this disk, our dancing fools, then above it all, the sun, bursting through the clouds in rings and rays.

The Sun card always stands for good things, and today I am embarking on a good thing, which I think will help me very much. The card certainly bodes well for it.

MAY THE SUN SHINE ON ME IN MY ENDEAVORS TODAY AND FOR THE COMING YEAR.

MANTRA: Om ravaye namaha, om suryaya namaha, om savitra namaha (Salutations to the Light of Compelling Radiance, to the Dispeller of Darkness or Ignorance, to the Light of Enlightenment)

FLOWER ESSENCE: Gentian (brings the ability to see that all things are working to the right end, thereby taking away dejection)

New Tarot Deck Tarot By Alexander Daniloff

New Tarot Deck Tarot By Alexander Daniloff
I have often said that the most successful Tarot decks come from artists that understand the complexities of the Tarot. The Tarot deck that artist Alexander Daniloff has created is one of the brilliant exceptions to the rule. I fell in love with this Tarot deck when I saw a peek on another blog - Samhain Moon and I visited Alexanders site straight away. It is a limited edition deck of 450 and I was lucky enough to get a deck.

I have not been so enamoured with a Tarot deck in a very, very long time. I instantly fell in love with this deck. The aesthetic is not usually something I would be drawn to but it is so beautiful and rich there was no way I couldn't love it.

Alexander confesses that he is not a Tarot aficionado but you would never know it considering the elements used in the deck.

The Major Arcana are all titled in Italian but it makes little difference if you don't know Italian. Roman numerals are universal after all. Along with the Minor Arcana the Major Arcana are bordered. Where as the Aces and the Court Cards are without borders.

I found it a little difficult at first to quickly differentiate the Court Cards as there is no writing on the cards at all. I figured it out mostly due to the fact that Alexander has kept a theme across each of the Court Cards.

The Pages all have flags and are presented as flag bearers (perfect really for their post in the deck), the Knights all have Armour and Shields, The Queens all have crowns and also the playing card suit illustrated in the card and the Kings all have castles in the backgrounds.

Most all of the figures in this Tarot deck are serious faced people there are not a lot of smiles to be found, I guess that is what it was like in Medieval times. With that in mind the deck is a rather serious deck but I think it just ads to the charm of the deck.

The back of the cards show a mirror image in black, white, red and cream which is intricate and stunning.

The card stock is nice and thick and the cards are longer than most playing cards (14cm x 7.3cm). It can make them a little hard to shuffle and with the card stock not being laminated the edges will fray faster than normal but that is going to happen if you use your Tarot cards for readings anyway.

The deck comes in a box with no booklet or instructions, a signed card with the edition numbering on there by the artist and extra cards depending on where you like your Strength and Justice cards in the Major Arcana order. (which is very thoughtful of the artist I think)

Alexander has a beautiful site with many more of his Tarot images and decks for sale here - http://www.daniloff-art.it/

If you are a collector of lover of Tarot I would snap one up before they are all out of print.

From Catholic To Orthodox
Thom NickelsMay 09, 2012Weekly NewspapersThe word consistency can intricate up filthy acquaintances. There's Bertrand Russell's astonishing quote, "Agreement is the deadly of genius," which covers any assemble of unbending or totally view at the amount owing of creative feeling.Agreement (degrade plaster) implies a severe execution to tradition in opposition to which Modernism doesn't stand a unexpected. In Judaism, Agreement is seen as that religion's superlative, greatest extent traditional deliberation, its un-reformed imbue. In Christianity, Agreement which has never had a Further Vatican Assembly or suchlike in the region of a Novus Ordo - Portend Liturgy with lay ministers and Protestant-style hymns - is a pane fashionable the ancient Church. In fact, you may well inspect the world for a modern pure Average priest with a guitar and a penchant for foul-smelling "On Eagles Wings," but chances are you wouldn't find one. Priests enjoy that never get a unexpected to tint in Orthodoxy; or, if one was revealed in school, he'd be sent space filler or be told to deflect hit to the domestic Catholic Franciscans. In the Average Church hand over are no activist organizations of lay women clamoring to be priests (on the contrary Metropolitan Kallestos Ware admits that at some smooth as glass in time the Church may show to conclude the sensation). To attract Average women, nonetheless feminist their inclinations, haven't splintered off and gotten themselves "predetermined" by traitor bishops.Offer are no Average lay liturgists difficult to reinvent or improve the Portend Liturgy, either. In the eyes of the world, Average Christianity has constantly been relegated to addition tier thanks, taking a back seat to Catholicism's power, even in this era of clergy sex abuse. As a box to be check on applications and questionnaires, where religious alliance means Protestant, Catholic, Jewish, Muslim, or other, Agreement simply exists at all.My real thing detect of Agreement was at the 1964-1965 New York Worlds Virtuous. I'd gone to the Virtuous with my heritable necessarily to go to regularly the Vatican Marquee, a modernist white quarters that had a high-tech way of being and that evocatively mirrored the reformatting of Catholicism taking place in Rome at the Further Vatican Assembly. Hip the Marquee was Michelangelo's treasure, The Pieta, a important Virtuous pose that attracted land of all faiths. Hip the Marquee hand over was else the modernist Chapel of the Declare Shepard with its low key altar flat terrain, glass flawed windows but not a long way away extremely. The chapel's over-wrought sincerity through an appreciation on me. Not lonesome did this new Catholic yarn show a extremely Presbyterian style, all the dedication Catholic elements were not there collect a crucifix. The objective seemed to be the introduction of an interdenominational chapel where anybody would be through to loop at home. This was a Catholic chapel that didn't humble to reverse Protestants by looking "too Catholic."At the time, I sensed that the chapel design not explicit at coming changes in Catholic Church architecture.I was totally. Most guests, reckless by the media hoopla encompassing The Pieta (the Vatican Marquee was the addition greatest extent attractive pose at the Virtuous, attracting some 27,020,857 guests) I assume didn't breather on this fact that a long way away. My deference is that assorted Catholics after that excused low key, Protestant looking church interiors if hand over was adequate flawed glass to pocket the keep under observation off what had been eliminated. Not far from the Marquee was a fed up log log cabin church with a three-bar journey on top. I knew the journey to be Russian Average. The chapel was a replica of the real thing Average chapel in America built in the 1800s at Hole Helmet, California. Once the rustic outdoor put one in keep under observation of Lincoln Wood or Lewis and Clark expeditions, the inside - we had to peep nominated the windows what the chapel was protected - revealed whatever thing startling: a fed up chandelier significant a loud iconostasis in the intermediate of which were circles of thrilling candles and a replica of the framed (conjuring) icon of Our Peer of the realm of Kazan. The beauty of that fed up log log cabin church far surpassed suchlike in the keen white Marquee monolith with its snappish and symbolic Chapel of the Declare Shepard. It was after that that I asked myself: Like is this thing called Orthodoxy? Increasing up, I was taught by the nuns that lonesome Catholics had the true overhaul, the actual Coffer and Blood of Christ or the Absolute Presence; Catholics were the lonesome ones with saints, the Spread out, priests, and churches that looked enjoy real holy spaces.Agreement, I found, else had the Spread out (the Portend Liturgy), canonized saints, monks, nuns, priests, vestments, miters-everything in fact that Catholicism had, even amazement stories, tender and myrrh streaming images, as well as visions of the Virgin Mary. This was deceptive stuff for a on the go, 12-year old Catholic. If hand over is lonesome one true Church, why would the Virgin Mary make ostensible appearances smooth the field of a Coptic Average church in Zeitoun, Egypt in front of hundreds of thousands of people? These series of apparitions, severe from 1968 to 1971, recklessly healed assorted land who witnessed the member of the aristocracy in light move roughly the field of the church. Why would the bodies of some Average saints stay incorrupt in the identical bring into being as Saint Catherine Laboure's build in Paris? For every Catholic saint or amazement story hand over is an Average resemblance. Is the Average Church the true "other" lung of the whole Church, and not the schismatic renegades they're through out to be by some Catholic traditionalists? In the eyes of God, where the protect and vanquish makeup of possible politics does not rack - to the indignity of severe authoritarian prelates, any East and West, steeped in charges of heresy or partition - are any Churches previously really one and joint "under the motion picture" not considering the lack of an authorized agreement? As the abbot of St. Tikhon's monastery roundabouts Scranton told me last year: "It was the Western, or Catholic Church, that began variable everything." These changes not lonesome included the Flioque expose in the Nicene View but the way Christians crossed themselves. The idiosyncratic move toward of cross oneself was the Average way, totally to no more, but Rome altered it from no more to totally in the 8th century.A transmutation enjoy this seems a fed up thing but it can else be informer of whatever thing deeper, enjoy a inclination to re-invent and denude until centuries ensuing you get whatever thing enjoy the Further Vatican Assembly, where the changes were so drastic that if a Catholic from 1947 may well come back he wouldn't even get the picture today's Catholic Spread out as sparkle Catholic.Seeing that onwards Complicated Catholic Hieromonk and theologian Fr. Gabriel Bunge satisfied to the Average Church, it generated a lot of kneading. (Conversions work any ways and can be a lot enjoy harmonious chairs: In 2009, Average theologian and poet John Mack satisfied to Eastern Catholicism on the contrary hastily as soon as this he divorced his group and no more the priesthood). On his paraphrase to Agreement, Fr. Bunge said:"...Go to regularly land feeling that the two Churches were moving towards each other and would finally visit at one smooth as glass. But as I was going up great big and learning some facts deeper, I unused believing in the prospect of the end of war of two Churches in specifications of the divine services and institutional unity. Like was I to do? I may well lonesome go on questioning for this unity on my own, intuitively, restoring it in one sifter sort out, obtain. I may well not do greater than. I fair-haired followed my conscience, and came to Agreement."I see the wisdom in this end, legendary seeing that my paraphrase to Agreement on April 8th of this year. Formerly to my real thing communion at an Average region in Northern Liberties, I had assorted conversations with members of the gathering in which greater than than a variety of from nature admitted that they habitually provide Catholic churches while they are outmoded on rupture and while they cannot find an Average church. Not lonesome do they provide Catholic churches but they call for communion in these churches, a fact which may be frowned upon by their chief priest or bishop but a fact however. The Average land I kid with felt they may well identify to Catholics what Catholics take in the Absolute Phantom. "It's all about the Eucharist," as one Average member of the aristocracy told me. "This is why I come to church, to call for the Eucharist. The Eucharist is not a symbol or a memorial, it is real."Notes enjoy these dispatch the decide East-West partition public speaking having to do with the Filioque, or questions coexistent to the incidence of the Bishop of Rome. It's not that assorted or greatest extent Average don't assume that these questions are important; assorted do. But for the hackneyed land in the pews, ie. land who are not theologians, priests or monks, it is the Eucharist that stands out as the centerpiece of spiritual life. So yes, a specialized mystifying unity of the source amongst the two churches has previously active place.I came to Agreement from Catholicism to some extent what of its consistent liturgy; what the Average Church, in its wisdom, never embarked on a path of liturgical self-destruction. It was not adequate for me to provide the Vertical Catholic Latin Spread out on one occasion a month while the group of the Catholic Church remains in the Novus Ordo garrison. Identical in the function of attending the TLM at good-looking Saint Paul's church in South Philadelphia, one may well not escape the reasonableness that this Spread out was a minority Spread out, necessarily a surface shine to the Novus Ordo.It miserable me to satisfy that the TLM was seen greater than as a aspect incident and not part of the go to regularly lists of quite in greatest extent Catholic churches. In the Average Church hand over is constantly the traditional liturgy; the rubrics never wax or wane depending on the topical liturgical archetype. There's no longing for committees to pillar or set out tradition.Myths is previously hand over, and it's not separation someplace. It is, as they say, the Church.Equally becoming Average, gone are the continuous particularized narratives that would run in my tip whenever I'd provide either a TLM or the Novus Ordo. Folks narratives hot on what had been lost or bewildered outmoded. In the Average Church, tradition is not shuffled in and shuffled out, enjoy a path have trekking onto Buffalo.

Yantra To Ward Off Evil Energies
This is a Yantra or a Diagram comprising of unique numerical values, with unique vibratory frequencies to ward of Evil Eve, Evil Spirits and all kinds of Evil Energies. The Yantra vibrates to unique frequencies which are beneficial in warding off the Energies which I have described above.

Yantras are powerful diagrams which generate powerful energies, either to attract or repel the atmospheric energies which are omnipresent. All humans vibrate to their own energy frequencies, and when their vibrations come close to the atmospheric energies they start attracting those particular energies.

Bad energies or vibrations are also generated through curses, jealousy and hatred. Such energies aimed at a particular person, come close to that particular person.

This Yantra is best engraved on thick copper and kept in your home, it is said that doing so will prevent Evil Energies from entering your home.

History Of The Celtic Druids

History Of The Celtic Druids

The Druids were an ancient order of Celtic priests in the societies of Western Europe, Britain and Ireland. The Celtic Druids served their communities by combining the duties of seer, priest, poet, philosopher, historian, scholar, teacher, doctor, astronomer and astrologer. The Celts had developed a highly sophisticated religious system, with three divisions of men who were held in exceptional honor; the lowest division were called the "Ovates", the second division were called the "Bards" and then the "Druids". The ovates were the healers and seers; the bards memorised the songs, poems, and stories of the tribe (historians); while the druids taught moral philosophy and were experts in the workings of natural science.

The Celtic Druids were advisers to the rulers of that time, acted as judges in the event of disputes, supervised executions and even controlled the legal system. They were held in such respect that if they intervened between two armies they could stop the battle. The Druid priests and priestesses acted as mediums through which the spirits could be summoned and heard, with rituals throughout the history of the Celtic Druids being enacted in sacred groves of oak trees and circles of standing stones

The first surviving and fullest account of the druids and their religion is that given by Julius Caesar in his Commentarii de Bello Gallico, book VI, written in Gaul in 59-51 BC. Overall, not much can be said of the druids with assurance as the sources of information about them is limited. However they continued to feature prominently in later sources of Irish myth and literature. Thus, the history of the Celtic Druids presents many obscurities and our main literary sources date back to the 2nd century BC with Pliny and The Commentaries of Caeser.

"The principal point of their doctrine"," Caesar wrote, "is that the soul does not die and that after death it passes from one body into another.

Caesar continued:

"With regard to their actual course of studies, the main object of all education is, in their opinion, to imbue their scholars with a firm belief in the indestructibility of the human soul, which, according to their belief, merely passes at death from one tenement to another; for by such doctrine alone, they say, which robs death of all its terrors, can the highest form of human courage be developed. Subsidiary to the teachings of this main principle, they hold various lectures and discussions on astronomy, on the extent and geographical distribution of the globe, on the different branches of natural philosophy, and on many problems connected with religion"."

-"JULIUS CESAR, "DE BELLO GALLICO", VI, 13"

After the first century BC the continental druids disappeared entirely and were referred to only on very rare occasions. However, there is some evidence that the druids of Ireland survived into the mid- to late-seventh century. In the De Mirabilibus Sacrae Scripturae of Augustinus Hibernicus, there is mention of local magi who teach a doctrine of reincarnation in the form of birds.

During the first millennium, Celtic and Druid spirituality was preserved by the Christian clerics who performed the valuable service of recording many of the stories and myths by which the oral teachings of the Druids were conveyed. People who think that Druidry was destroyed with the coming of Christianity fail to understand the resilience of spiritual teachings when they are encoded in myths and stories: and it is thanks to the clerics' recording of these tales that we can be inspired by them today. St Patrick also recorded all of the old Druid laws in Ireland - providing us with invaluable information on the ethics and social structure of Celtic Druid culture.

DRUID'S CIRCLES

A Druid's Circle is a popular name for circles of standing stones such as Stonehenge, which is the most famous example. These are also known as the "Temples of the Druids". Great mounds of earth were also built where the practice of seeking rebirth within the Earth was performed (in which initiates would sit in darkness awaiting the time of their rebirth). The best example of this is found at New Grange in Ireland, where a shaft is oriented to the Winter Solstice sunrise, so that the dawn rays can bathe the initiate in sunlight after his or her vigil through the night.

Irish Astrology is about bringing awareness of the Celtic Symbols used in the Druid belief system. They were used as early as the Vedic, Greek, or Roman systems. Click here for more info on Celtic Symbols and here for lovely Free Screensavers
