Roger Walsh, MD, Ph.D., D.H.L, Might, Academic world of California at Irvine: The Ethics of Intrinsic Kick.
Each of the world's textbook religions regards cube training as essential for persona who would develop spiritual delicacy, stay alive cleverly and well, and let somebody borrow powerfully to others. As such, morals is a of the essence crate for integralists. Yet morals is youthful tacit in existing culture, arrange and post-conventional distinctions go unrecognized, and the distressing come to blows count pleasant turmoil and culture wars. "Rare are populace who understand purity" sighed Confucius. This rank ghoul plunge post-conventional cube perspectives and practices. Ahead to attending, participants are invited to bounce off on the claim, "Seeing that does it develop to stay alive without regrets?"
Roger Walsh is educationalist of psychoanalysis, philosophy, and anthropology, and auxiliary educationalist of spiritual studies at the Academic world of California at Irvine. His publications count the books Paths Further than Ego: The Transpersonal Persona, The Formation of Shamanism, and Destitution Spirituality: The Seven Halfway Practices.Acquaint with were by chance 10 zip in the carry on deed, which is bothered, but this one is conclusion, confirming his belief in the community.
Roger gave a very full of character and first-rate to-do. He's less about idea and take care stuff than he is about, "How do we do this, put it happening practice." He did some cool pragmatic stuff, which really brough this home for me as a somaticly oblique contributor.
One prime points....
Stages of cube development:
Pre-conventional
Position - maintaining norms
Post-conventional - listening to one's own delicacy
Trans-conventional - past ego, worldcentric
Nondual - kosmoscentric - Rumi:
"Out past ideas of recklessness, and rightdoing display is a procession. I'll drop you display. While the soul lies down in that vegetation the world is too full to to-do about."Seeing that we take persists - and what we take runs our lives." - This may be the best heretical totally for earlier shadow stuff and living an cube life.
* Inconspicuous zip make a infection, perceive miserable, subsequently breathe life into the mistakes.
* Suspicious zip make a infection, learn from it, and do not breathe life into it.
Accuse is a stage-appropriate concern in tread, but not first-rate for adults.
I'm not categorical I agree with this, but on the other hand, his definition of sorrow is preferably to obtain of debase, and he does not tenderness the "debase" word in that it is too frequently distorted.
I'll specific a cut above on this after that on, including practices for the Contemplative Ethics set up he outlines: Command sermon, Command action, Command think logically.

Tecnopaganismo Y Tecnochamanismo El Netlore Folclore De La Red

Mt 213 18 The Innocent
magick, religion belief, www.wicca.com 0 Comments »"(Click here for readings)"
"The angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, "Rise, take the child and his mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I tell you"....When Herod realized that he had been deceived by the magi, he became furious. He ordered the massacre of all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had ascertained from the magi. Then was fulfilled what had been said through Jeremiah the prophet."
Mary and Joseph, the two most highly favored people on God's list, are on the run. In fact, they will be fleeing, hiding and escaping for what appears to be their entire life. Is this how God treats his friends? No! God treats his friends very well. It is evil and confused men continue to pursue and attempt to discredit and destroy spiritual people. I think it is important that we get it in our heads that we can try to dialogue with the world, but in the end, the world will always try to gobble us up!
When I flew from Dallas to New York City, I carried with me my Mass kit. In the kit, I had a special container filled with wine for Mass. I did not check-in the metal box because I did not want to spend an extra fifty dollars for one extra piece of luggage. So I carried it with me and as soon as TSA scanned it, they called me over. They opened the Mass kit and asked me what was inside the container. I told them it was special wine for Holy Mass. The guard told me that I could not take it on board. I looked at him and told him that it was necessary for me to celebrate Mass. He did not seem convinced. He asked his supervisor and to my amazement I was allowed to bring it on board! The next day, for my flight from New York to Tel Aviv I had to go through another security check. Again, the TSA guard told me that I could not bring the wine on board, that is was strictly forbidden. I told the guard that it was for Mass. She told me that she was Catholic and understood but that I could not bring it on board. Then, to my amazement, she asked another supervisor and the supervisor told me that it would be ok. Then, right before boarding the airplane, we had a second security check. Again, my Mass kit was examined (for a third time now!) and again I was told by a different guard that I could not bring this wine on board. But, once again, to my amazement and without a single word from me, the same guard reversed himself and allowed me to bring the wine on board! So three times I was told I could not carry this wine on board and all three times they eventually allowed me to bring the wine on board. What is truly bizarre is that not a single time did they allow me to being my bottled water on board! I guess they thought that I could take the wine and turn it back to water!
How God loves to test us! How God loves to make us totally dependent and innocent to his Will and Love.
Just a few hours ago, after an almost fourteen hour flight (we waited for almost four hours at the gate), I arrived in Tel Aviv. On the way to Jerusalem, we stopped at a Church built upon the spot were King David, after defeating the enemy in Jerusalem, settled the Ark of the Covenant. This spot has been sacred for over six thousand years and I celebrated Mass there! I felt like a child in a cookie jar! Oh the beauty of first time experiences!
"O God, whom the Holy Innocents confessed and proclaimed on this day, not by speaking but by dying, grant, we pray, that the faith in you which we confess with our lips may also speak through our manner of life. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen. "(Today's opening prayer)

The Voodoo Queen Of New Orleans
magick, neo-pagan, satanism 0 Comments »I find the Voodoo queen of New Orleans online. She sells a love candle for 575, but clearly states that the money is only for the candle and that the spell is complimentary. I'm uncomfortable with online "gris-gris" so I decide to make a real gambler's gris-gris for my gambler friend Chris. It's made of chamois, a piece of red flannel, a shark's tooth, pine-tree sap, and dove's blood. I mixed blood and sap together, and used this mixture to write the (undisclosed) amount that I want Chris to win on the chamois. Then I wrapped the chamois in the red flannel with the shark's tooth between the two layers and sewed it all with dead cat's hair. This charm needs to be worn in the left shoe to bring good but uncomfortable luck.
On Bourbon Street a desperate man asks me for 5 to buy crystal meth. We walk the street at night and I eye the girls dressed in scanty outfits. Mrs. Phred points out that most of the girls, while attractive, are actually men with strong legs and relatively flat muscular chests. I regard it as impolite to take pictures.
We do the Katrina tour and get a little more insight about the lingering disaster. The City is, of course, in a huge swampy bowl that sits about six feet below sea level. Lake Pontchartrain on the North and the Mississippi (which flows though the City) is twelve feet above sea level. There are canals cut though the City, one of which connects the Mississippi to the Inland waterway at sea level.
There are levees and walls everywhere which are intended to keep high water out of the city. A barge broke though a wall in the lower ninth ward and flooded a third of the city at varying depths. Most of the damage was due to wind blowing South on Lake Pontchartrain in Katrina's NE quadrant. Fats Domino, age 78, spent two nights on his roof and was picked up the third day. A lot of the dead fled to their attics and drowned or died of heat exhaustion.
The houses sat in a lake of putrid water laced with motor oil, sewage and dead bodies for over a month while the Corp of Engineers pumped it out. The heat produced thick layers of dangerous mold within the homes as well as a later of mud and filth. The contents of refrigerators were unimaginably foul. Each house has to be gutted and dried out, rewired and re-plumbed before it is habitable.
Brad Pitt is helping to construct a number of new homes in the Lower Ninth Ward. I know where he lives, but I'm not telling. Here's one of the Pitt homes in the lower ninth ward.
To put this in context, the bodies here are buried above ground because of the water table. To build a house, you drive in 80 telephone poles and pour a concrete slab on top of the poles. Even so, houses sink, sidewalks sink, roads sink, walls crack and you have to redo everything again about once every ten years (including shoring up the house). We hit the casinos, took a steamboat dinner cruise on the Mississippi, went to the aquarium and IMAX and the WWII museum. We also saw some fine antebellum mansions, a few cemeteries and wandered the French Quarter.
Our RV Park is Pontchartrain Landing. It's very nice, with a pool, cable, book exchange and runs a 10 minute shuttle to the French Quarter three times a day. It's Passport America, so you can get a nice spot for about 30 a night. We could spend another week here, but we have reservations in Abbeville tomorrow.
If you get a chance, come to New Orleans. It's still a lot of fun and they could use your tourism dollars to help the recovery.

The Secret Stone Circle Of Stanton Drew
avebury, magick, wiltshire 0 Comments »Back in the depths of winter, when I was thinking about places I wanted to explore in the coming year, a friend gave me a map of the stone circles at Stanton Drew. It was a much-faded black-and-white photocopy of a map from a very old leaflet about the prehistoric site. This showed not one stone circle, but three. These, as well as a set of stones known as The Cove, all lay on one side of the River Chew, in Somerset, while an outlying quoit could be found on the other bank of the river.
What made me want to see Stanton Drew stone circles myself was the fact that it is the third largest collection of standing stones in England. Yet, as I learnt when I visited during the glorious Indian Summer weather of early September last week, Stanton Drew languishes in obscurity compared with Avebury, which is England's second largest megalithic complex after the world-renowned Stonehenge.
Pay a visit to either Avebury or Stonehenge and you will find them crowded with visitors. From tourists who feel no holiday in England, or at least the West Country, is complete without a trip to a famous stone circle to pagans who believe a pilgrimage to these sacred sites must be done at least once in a lifetime, Avebury and Stonehenge are on the must-see list. Yet stop any of these tourists or pagans and ask them if they have been to Stanton Drew and the answer is likely to be no - if they have heard of the place at all.
Even many of the people who live in the village of Stanton Drew seem remarkably uninterested and uninformed about their local stone age megaliths, apart from knowing the field where the main stone circle stands. Although the stones are managed by English Heritage, they lie on private farm land. There is a sign saying access is permitted from 9am until sunset each day and there is an honesty box on the gate with a suggestion that you drop in a pound to pay for your visit - a fair admittance charge I would say. In fact, the field contains two of Stanton Drew's circles - the Great Circle, which is 113m in diameter, and the smaller North East Circle. It also contains the remains of an avenue of stones by which the small stone circle would have been approached in the distant past when Stanton Drew was a significant place of ritual and worship. (You can see a photo of the site at the top.)
Most people in the village also know that the three stones that make up The Cove can be found in the garden of the local pub - the appropriately named Druid's Arms (one of the stones is pictured left). But even the barmaid at the Druid's Arms couldn't tell me where I could find the third stone circle. After ordering a pint of the local ale, I showed her my creased and faded map, which clearly included a South West Circle, some way apart from the Great Circle.
She shook her head. She had never heard of it before, let alone seen it, she said. It was a mystery.
By the time my beer was drunk and The Cove thoroughly explored, the sun was setting. The best course of action seemed to be to put my plans of exploration aside until morning and buy another drink. I decided to switch to cider.
This being Somerset, the home of English cider, I asked what local brews they had. The barmaid pointed to Thatcher's Gold on tap. Now, I have nothing against Thatcher's Gold and I do realise that it is produced in the county, but I was hoping to sample something I couldn't easily buy in London, I explained to the barmaid. I asked if there was anything else available. She paused and glanced at the other people in the bar, the locals. There was a definite lull in the conversation and their eyes turned towards me. So I looked at them, then back at the barmaid.
"There is.... The Rough..." She said, at last. "That's what the locals drink."
Naturally, I asked to try it.
The barmaid produced, from below the counter, a battered plastic container of cloudy yellow liquid and poured a small amount into a glass. I sipped. I've had scrumpy before. It isn't rough at all. In fact it tastes extremely smooth. Hardly alcoholic really. This is deceptive, however. Although it tastes much like plain apple juice, real scrumpy will get you drunk in no time and I am pretty sure its name refers entirely to how you feel the morning after.
"Very nice," I said, and ordered a glass. There was the perceptible sigh of relief from the barmaid and around me the locals picked up their conversations again. I sort of felt as though I had passed some kind of test, though a test of what I wasn't entirely sure...
The next morning, over the Full English and pot of tea that is the standard cure for a hangover, I asked the owner of the B and B I was staying at if she knew the location of the mysterious South West Circle. At first, she seemed just as baffled as the barmaid the night before and said she had never heard of it. But, after a while - and much peering at my map - said she thought that if it really existed I might be able to catch a glimpse of it over the wall at the back of the graveyard behind the village church.
So, that was where I headed after packing my bags and paying my bill. The churchyard was beautiful and peaceful in the early autumn sunlight, full of old weatherworn grave markers and surrounded by a lichen-encrusted stone wall. But, beyond it, where the South West Circle might lie, was out of view. All I could see was a huge and overgrown hedge of thorns and brambles that could just as easily hide Sleeping Beauty's castle as a lost stone circle. I needed to find another route if I wasn't to give up my quest there and then.
Wandering down the country lane beside the church, I spotted a faded and half-broken sign marking a footpath that led towards a farm. It seemed as though it might run in the right direction so I followed it. I could see the high and overgrown hedge to my right. At the edge of the footpath I was following ran an electric fence, and the ground between the fence and the high hedge was dense with nettles and thistles. I became more and more convinced that that hedge surrounded the secret circle, but clearly this was private land and the owner of that land - and the circle itself - did not want trespassers.
What was I to do?
At last I spotted a slight gap in the high hedge where a small kissing gate must once have allowed access to that enclosure, although it was now almost completely obscured in the thorns and brambles.
I looked around. No sign of anyone else in the area. No angry farmer heading my way brandishing a shotgun loaded with rock salt - the traditional way they deal with trespassers in these parts, or so I have heard. Taking a deep breath, I crawled under the electric fence, waded as quickly as possible through the knee-high nettles and squeezed through the kissing gate in the hedge, ignoring the thorns scratching my arms.
And there it was, hedged round so it could not be seen from outside, lying in long grass, were the large stones of the South West Circle. I quickly took the photo you see below and made a hasty retreat - not only from the private field, but from the village too. I might have passed the Cider Test at the Druid's Arms the night before, but nevertheless I wasn't sure what the locals might do to an outsider who had penetrated the secret of the South West Circle of Stanton Drew.
I still don't know what rites or rituals the stones were built to honour - or what uses they have been put to since. The English Heritage website gives few details and even my photocopied leaflet said the origins of the site are surrounded in mystery. I have seen that a book was published in 2012 called The Sacred Stone Circles of Stanton Drew, which I intend to read to learn more. I might have seen all the circles, but I know the story won't be ending there.
