In today's firm of From the Mailbag, Matt from Dallas asks

"Jolly Side Carolina, "I've just naked your blog a few months ago and am relaxing reading entries but I've really enjoyed everything that I've read so far. I'm new to Wicca but I've noticed that you, and a few other authors, often spell magic with a K at the end. What's that all about?"

MM, Matt and esteem for your error.

"Magick "was the apt spelling for "MAGIC" clothed in the point amongst the at the back 15th century and up until forcefully the mid 1600's. As the English language evolved, the K at the end was dropped benevolent up the modern spelling as magic.

In the modern era, Aleister Crowley is often given approved with coining the famous person "MAGICK", which he defined as "THE ART AND SCIENCE OF CAUSING BRING ROUND TO SLIP AWAY IN CONCURRENCE WITH REQUEST." His end for replacing the k was to difference occult magick from the magick of stage magicians and illusionists.
