Seeing Salem With Teens
Fun awaits at Salem Willows.

The question is: What do you do in Salem with a teenager? Specifically, a 13-year-old. I don't have a 13-year-old, myself, so I turned to our friends on Facebook. I'm thrilled to share with you their recommendations.

The consensus of this impromptu panel is the 13 is the perfect age to visit Salem! Here are the recommendations I received, in alphabetical order. Let me know if we left anything off the list!

* Browse and shop along ARTIST ROW for Fished Impressions and other cool stuff.

"

Cast a spell at Crow Haven Corner.

* Eat at LOBSTER SHANTY, which is so cool because it was on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. "

* GHOST TOURS

* Girls should go shopping at the boutiques, like ROUGE, TWO GIRLS, ROOST, and BEEHIVE. Boys would like the Old Burying Point (SalemNight Tour and Salem Historical Tours do great cemetery tours).
* ICE CREAM at Maria's or Ben ">KAYAKING at Salem Willows
* NEW ENGLAND PIRATE MUSEUM. Arrggghh!
* PEABODY ESSEX MUSEUM is great for all ages, and admission is free for kids 16 and under. Their new "Art of H2O" exhibit is cool for all ages.
* RED'S for pancake breakfasts!

"

Salem Ferry to Boston.

* Sail aboard the SCHOONER FAME "
* SALEM WILLOWS for the arcades at video games
* SALEM WITCH MUSEUM is great because it talks about the evolution of the word witch, and the ingredients for a Witch Hunt.
* Shopping for spells in the WITCH SHOPS

* THE WITCH WALK

* WITCH DUNGEON MUSEUM for the drama, and teens love the dungeon.
* And, when you're done with Salem, take the SALEM FERRY to Boston!

Let me know if you do any or all of these things with your teen(s)! And take pictures. I'd love to share proof that Salem is teen-friendly!

Happy exploring.
