Stage fright is such a primal thing. I can't reason it away any more than in my outdoorsy days I could convince myself, harnessed and anchored, to leap off a platform forty feet in the air. Hard as it has always been to pull out the guitar and tell my family "I wrote a new song" (even when I know they'd appreciate it), I've done it. My fingers always shake on the strings. It has always been the hardest gift for me to give.

Much as we may dream of fame and fortune, few humans take comfort in platforms that raise us over the heads of others, that put bright lights on us and ask us to pour out what our hearts hold. We novelists may think we're exempt from that necessity-I sometimes catch myself cheerfully picturing a hidden, literary life-but with authors reputedly having to do more and more of their own marketing, I doubt most of us can get away with the reclusive ideal.

Not that I'm worrying about book tours and the like, not yet. I've got to sell the novel first, and should such things happen, at least the performance aspect won't be a new experience. The stage meets me in other ways, though-less immediate, less oh-heavens-maybe-I-should-start-taking-beta-blockers panic-inducing, but nonetheless real and challenging.

For instance, having my story critiqued. Or trying to write a minimum of four blog-posts a week, all of which need to be well-written, reasonably interesting, and not overly likely to cause me shame. Then there are the query and submission processes, in which everyone gets rejected sometimes.

I keep thinking all of this will get easier with practice. Over the last few months, I've had numerous encounters with the stage in the form of solo vocals. I've been out of my wits every time. If anything, the stage fright has gotten worse.

I was only thinking of How it was last year we just went 3 people and this year my Goddess La Sirene, Papa Legba and SImbi blessed me and heard my plea. I feel a strong emotional connection with the place and i would love to visit it as long it is not Crowded and commercialized. We all enjoyed in the Bus which was led by Tiwari the driver. The whole team was like a family to me and we were creating a bond. There were disagreements on certain issues but still we were so connected with each other. Mohsinn Khan the main lead, a friend and now a partner in our Production company was making light moments for everyone. He handled the different odd situations so well that i could never have handled as a Producer. DJ Sin the Music Director of Recalling's first song and Richelle Mendes sang the english Version of Moko Kahaan from"Recalling". Rutuja Padwal off course was a quite being all the while but opened up later. Everyone was so involved in the work and was doing it from Heart. I asked Naseem Ahmad the Director to cover my Ritual. It was a Thanks giving and Purification ritual at Koli Graves of Harihareshwar. Naseem Ahmad did his job so well that i dint even feel that i am meeting these people for the first time and we are working. Basically it was kinda Picnic for all of us. Inshallah i am looking forward to such Picnics in near future too. We built a great Team there and big credit goes to Mohsinn who played chilled and did his work not only with perfection but whole heartedly. Dinesh Kuche the Editor gave his precious time to us who never gone out because of his Busy schedule but still took out time for "Recalling" and that matters a lot to me. I can't forget Pankaj Chawdhary the Make Up Artist who gave a Face to me and my Artists. "Recalling" was dreamed with someone and lived with others...ha ha ha who will understand my story behind it, but few those who know what i am saying. Thay will live forever with me this way. This is how i collect memories, actually i create and cherish them. This gives me strength to Walk Towards My Mission. "Recalling" is a Story and dedicated to my Dad late Sh. Water Water

Just after writing the last post, I did an LIRP using water invoking pentagrams and the sign of the eagle in each quarter. I welcomed each quarter by welcoming the combined element, water of air, water of fire, water of water and water of earth. When the archangels appeared, they demonstrated that they brought their watery element. Raphael (Air) offered a cup. Michael (fire) offered steamy water like from a hot spring. Gabriel (Water) flooded the temple space. Uriel (earth) was a bit different. The only way I can describe that was earth that moved. This was not mud.

I then vibrated the God Name, Archangel Name and Angelic Choir as appropriate for the following sephiroth. I also used an appropriate but similar prayer for each name vibrated.

For Binah, I vibrated each name three times because three is the number associated with that sphere. After each name I said, "Please align my emotional bodies in their proper and healthy form that my back no longer hurts."

For Chesed, four vibrations of the names, "Please expand my emotional capabilities that all my emotional bodies align in a healthy way that my back no longer hurts."

For Hod, eight vibrations, "Please help me have a healthy intellect that deals with emotions properly that my back no longer hurts."

For Malkuth, "Please manifest a reality where my emotional bodies are aligned in a healthy way that my back no longer hurts." There was a much more emotional and prayerful attitude here. I think because Sandalphon, the angel of Malkuth, is very closely associated with prayer.

Each prayer was inspired at the moment.

I then vibrated the same type of names that are specifically associated with the element of water, not the sephiro. I started off to ten vibrations but I kept getting cut off at five. It dawned on me that five is the number of the elements.

When I reached the angel of water, it appeared as a strong voice in my head. It told me that I had finally asked the right question but angels work slower than I might expect. It went on to say that I should depart the temple and Be. I am not to aspire to be more (degrading). I should not endeavor to be less (stoop not down into that darkly splendid world wherein lay a faithless depth and Hades wrapped in gloom). I should simply be who I am right now. Further, it said that I could call upon it during any emotional time to help me balance things out.

Two side notes:

1. As I write this, I realize this may temper my, at times, volcanic communication style and frustrations. Though it has improved by leaps and bounds, the issue is not fully resolved.

2. I realized in meeting the angel of water that the LBRP can be done with the Elemental triplicity of names instead of the standard names of just the archangels. I will do that in the future.

That said, if you're new, please don't do this. They LBRP is taught as it is for a reason. Once you know that reason, you can play with it. I think I've done fifteen or twenty variations over my career. That doesn't mean the standard LBRP is not effective. It means different effects can be gained using it in different ways. Know the first effect first. Knowing doesn't mean you've been told. It doesn't mean you read it in a book. It means you've done so many of them that you instinctually know.

Holding To A Rational Belief

Has someone ever told you that you should never try to tell someone else their faith is misplaced? They claim faith requires no proof; believing is the opposite of using facts and evidence, and since faith is a personal choice the underlying theology really doesn't matter much. Faith brings comfort to a person, but his comfort could be different than yours, so his faith is legitimate for him as much as yours is for you. This kind of thinking is why many people feel that everyone is entitled to believe as they choose.

Now, I agree that all have the right to their beliefs. But defining faith in this way misconstrues what the concept of faith is all about. The claim that "all faiths are simply a choice and are equally valid" really translates to "all faiths have an equal claim to truth and there's no way to discern whether any of them are true or not." That's just not the case. For example, I don't think anyone today would give Greek mythology serious consideration as a true belief. But how do we know that Greek mythology isn't a viable religion? Because we use reason and evidence to see that its claims about how the world works are unsupportable. They are internally inconsistent and externally incoherent with what we know about the world.

Similarly, we can look at today's different faith systems and see that they cannot all be true since they make competing claims about how the world works. As an example, the monotheistic faiths such as classical Judaism, Christianity and Islam claim that there is a God who is distinct and separate from His creation, while pantheistic faiths such as Vedanta Hinduism or the New Age hold to the idea that all is God. Now, one or the other may be true, but they certainly cannot both be true at the same time. Therefore, any faith that teaches all ways to God are equally valid, such as the Bah'ai faith, holds to a logical contradiction and can be dismissed simply as being illogical. It simply doesn't match the way the world works.

Now, I'm not saying that faith is unnecessary or that reason can do all the work. I am saying, though, that any faith that forces you to deny reason is a faith not worth holding. Christianity is a faith built on evidence: historical evidence of a real event. Of course it requires faith, but we can investigate its claims on the basis of history to see whether they stand up. Mormonism, for example, also makes claims about historical events, but they are unsupportable. If the things claimed in the Book of Mormons are demonstrably false, then it follows that Joseph Smith was not a prophet of God and we have good reason for not believing Mormonism to be true.

I think it's a mistake to lump anything with a "religion" or "faith" tag into a category marked untestable. There certainly are ways we can make informed judgments about what we believe. That's why Paul tells us "examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good."

Being reasonable or rational means holding on to true beliefs. So, if someone questions of whether it's rational to be a Christian, that means we need to talk about whether Christian beliefs are true-which requires honest inquiry. To not check out the claims of Christianity when they very well may be true would be a very irrational thing to do.
